Photo of the week July 24th, 2013

'Buildings appear to pop up almost randomly as towns spill out into available lands.  Little thought goes into provision of utilities such as water, power, sanitation - and the access roads grow organically in haphazard directions - often changing location and form based on the last rains and muddy puddles.  Land issues are far more than 'ownership', they include responsibility for the healthy development of our communities.  Thought must go into developments that provide good access for future police, fire and ambulance services as well as education and health access.  Town planning, access consideration and a healthy environment is not just the responsibility of the authorities, it is the responsibility of all who develop or live in any property.  If we all take responsibility together, we will see far more orderly, pleasant and successful growth that boost economic development in a positive long term and healthier manner.  Photo courtesy of WAASPS Ltd www.waasps.com www.waasps.com'
