Modern light aircraft can be as well equipped as the flight deck of an airliner. This Piper Mirage has a propeller driven by a single 350Hp piston engine. The cockpit is ultra-modern and has similar functions to the bigger aircraft. With six seats and a range of over two thousand kilometres in around five hours, it is understandable why many corporates, and even smaller businesses, in areas such as China and Australia are buying machines like this. Perhaps Ghana will soon be following the worldwide trend in the General Aviation growth, opening up our rural areas and making isolated communities an integral part of the economic developments we seek.
