Many people find it hard to believe that there are so many hard to reach communities in Ghana. But as we can see here, in this photo of a headland in the Afram Plains, the communities are often spread out to the tips of convoluted land masses with challenging transport issues between them. The local communities around the lake regularly use their boats to good effect, but with the ever changing water levels and the often choppy water surface, the challenges are great. Expanses like this are common around the lake and can only truly be appreciated from the air. Photo courtesy of Medicine on the Move http://www.medicineonthemove.org
