Photo of the week, November 23rd

Our countryside is wonderfully varied and intriguing - with isolated communities hidden like nuggets of gold in the patchworks below. This community is nestled in the Akwapim-Togo ridge above Koforidua. Access and communications are challenges despite being only a few kilometres from the regional capital, as the crow flies, it may still take a half-day or more to make the journey to market. The ridge itself enjoys higher levels of rainfall, much of it relief related precipitation, coupled with the slightly cooler conditions of altitude this is an ideal area for agro-forestry, agri- and horti-cultural developments.
